Donal Costello, Director

Donal has worked in the old (pre microchip) electronics industry during the 1970s. Donal was a trade union activist at that time serving on a number of grass root cross union committees as well as being Chair of the Dublin No. 13 branch of the ITGWU. Donal left the industry to study Economics at Trinity College Dublin and graduated in 1985 and then worked with the Community Enterprise Programme (sponsored by the Youth Employment Agency) in Dublin’s Inner City from 1985 to 1990. In the 1990s Donal went to Pittsburgh to study Community Development (MA) and worked with communities in Western Pennsylvania suffering from the catastrophic loss of the steel industry until 1997. From 1998 to 2014 Donal was manager of the Citizens Information Centre in Clondalkin. Donal retired from Citizens Information Centre in 2014, after which he joined the Board of Aoibhneas.
